Underexposed Photos Tutorial

This is the underexposed photo that I took with a -2.0 exposure. I liked how dark and dramatic it looks.

This was the regular photo and it was edited to show more detail.

This was the photo taken with a -2.0 exposure and so it is darker with less detail. I liked the interesting subject.

This was the photo taken normally with a regular exposure. It was taken in direct sunlight.

Music Project

For the project I went to Dinosaur Hill Park. I used lyrics from the song "On Top of the World" by Imagine Dragons. I picked this song because of the message and the meaning of it. The song is very positive and so the colors would be bright. I used saturation and vibrance in both Lightroom and Photoshop. I used the text tool to write the quote and also curved it upward.

Photoshop Text with Layer Blending Modes

I opened a new layer and added a purple gradient to the background. I used a giant font to write out Kaboom and used Text Warp to change the shape and arc of the word. Then I moved it to the middle and used effects like inner shadow to make it darker, an outer glow to highlight the words, bevel and emboss to add some texture to the letters, a color overlay to make it brighter. I used a gradient overlay to make the color fade and stroke to highlight around the letter.

Photoshop Extras: BW / Color Pictures

This one is partly in black and white and mostly in color. The berries are also notably darker.

This was the original.

Frozen Time/ Blur Time Project

This is an example of panning because I followed the balloon as it flew around. I used a 80 speed ISO and the aperture was 5.6. I didn't edit this photo.

For this photo I used blurred hand lights in the dark to create really neat patterns. I really enjoyed creating these types of pictures. I used a 2.7 aperture and an ISO of 80. For edits I used exposure, 100% contrast, no highlights and some clarity.

For this one I did the same thing as the one above but with similar edits.

This is an example of frozen motion because of how the balloon is perched right on the edge of the hoop. Aperture was 3.0 and ISO was 80. I used a lot of contrast, hardly any clarity and many highlights and shadows.
